Union State Bank in the Community
One of the ways Union State Bank serves the communities in which we operate is through the giving of time and resources. Many of our employees demonstrate commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities they serve every day, through their actions both on and off the job. Several employees are members of nonprofits, serve on those boards, as well as serve on committees within our Chambers of Commerce. As a locally-owned bank, we do what we can to make where we live and work a better place for everyone.
Union State Bank also proudly supports several causes through financial contributions and donations to nonprofit community organizations. Wherever someone is working to make a positive difference in our communities, we are honored to support and work alongside them.
Please take a moment to review our requirements and procedures to learn how Union State Bank may be able to support your organization and its mission.
Areas of giving
Union State Bank predominately supports capital building campaigns for schools, hospitals, local-nonprofits, and other organizations. The contribution must be used to raise funds for the benefit of at least one of the following purposes:
- Education
- Health
- Economic Development
- Human Services
- Youth Activities
- Community Service
Due to high demand for funding, and the number of requests we receive on a daily basis, many factors are included in the evaluation of these requests. Union State Bank receives numerous requests for support, donations, auction items, etc., and the number of requests we receive exceed what we actually can give.
All requests for funds must be supported by a formal written request that includes a brief mission statement of the organization, its leadership, and the purpose of the funds requested. In addition to the written request, organizations should include a completed W-9 form, which can be found on the IRS website. Requests and supporting documentation should be forwarded to the Marketing Director. It is the Marketing Director's responsibility to respond to the request within 20 days. If your contribution is approved, a check request generally takes up to two weeks to process.
Requests given preferential consideration are organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Are tax-exempt, IRS section 501(c)(3) *
- Create positive exposure for Union State Bank
- Are Union State Bank customers
- Involve our employees
- Improve quality of life in our communities
To help the donation process, we have some limitations in our donation program which include:
- Organizations without a nonprofit status
- Lobbying groups
- Private Foundations
- Individuals
- Requests that pose a conflict of interest to Union State Bank
- Solicitations received by form letter that discriminate on the basis of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin
Does your organization meet the guidelines in Union State Bank Donation Policy? Need funding for your cause or community organization? Please fill out the Sponsorship/Donation Request Form.
