Union State Bank has received reports of criminals contacting commercial account customers directly and impersonating USB staff. They are calling in an attempt to collect additional information to perpetrate fraud through ACH transactions using customer's online banking credentials. 
 
Many calls are coming from 213-459-2178. This IS NOT a phone number associated with Union State Bank.   
 
Cyber attacks, phishing scams, and identity theft are just a few of the very real threats you potentially face everyday as a business. As part of our commitment to safeguarding your business, we want to bring this threat to your attention and inform you of what to do if you receive a call that appears to be from the bank and are unsure it is legitimate.

The bank will never reach out to you over the phone or through a text message unexpectedly, and request any of the following information:

  • Full account number
  • Personal Information like Social Security Number or Date of Birth
  • Online Banking Username and/or Password
  • Full debit card number or CVV Code
  • Debit Card PIN
  • One time passcodes provided by the bank for digital verification purposes
  • Driver’s License Information

• Do not disclose any personal information and disconnect the call immediately. 

 Do not respond to any text messages requesting any personal or account information.

• Call the bank back at 866.557.0060 or visit one of our branches to confirm the request.

Tech Tip: If you’re asked to verify payment information over the phone, ask the caller to tell you what they have on file. If they decline, only provide the last four digits of your payment card number.
