Union State Bank Do Good Day

Union State Bank is proud to be one of 41 recipients of FHL Bank Topeka's annual #500forGood community grant program. The grant, combined with additional funds from Union State Bank, allowed for us to provide each of our communities with a donation toward a local cause as nominated by our staff.

The Arkansas City team nominated the Warm Hearts Fund as their donation recipient. The warm hearts fund provides warm clothing and other necessities for students in need through the Arkansas City public school district, USD 470. 
The Winfield team nominated the Winfield Soroptimist Club as their donation recipient. The Soroptimist maintain a Blessing Box in Winfield to help those in need. Twice a week, members of the club, stock the Blessing Box with non-perishable items, varying from canned & boxed food, warm socks, gloves, toilet tissue, paper towels and personal hygiene items.

The Winfield team made a second donation to Angels In The Attic. Angels In The Attic provides a variety of services to assist those in need within the Cowley County area. Some of Angels In The Attic's projects include a food pantry, utility assistance program and the annual Angel Tree program which provides Christmas gifts for families.

The Udall team nominated the Eagle's Nest as their donation recipient. The Eagles Nest is a student-driven, food and necessity pantry for the Udall school district. The program is overseen by the Udall FFA and helps to provide weekend food packets, winter clothing, and various other items to students throughout the year.

The Wichita team nominated Embrace of Wichita as their donation recipient. Embrace of Wichita is a local pregnancy resource center providing free services for individuals experiencing a pregnancy. Embrace provides counseling services, classes and essentials such as formula, diapers, clothing, blankets, etc.

The Bartlesville, OK team nominated Agape Mission as their donation recipient. Agape provides over 4,000 nutritious meals a month for people in need. The mission also gives over 2,600 sacks a month of nutritious snack items to local school children who are at risk of going hungry over the weekends while attending school.

The Edmond team nominated Eagle Recovery Center as their donation recipient. Eagle Recovery Center & Eagle Christian Ministries are a non-profit, sober living home for women dedicated to providing a safe and stable living environment for those in recovery from substance use disorders. In addition, center volunteers hand out meals, water and blankets each Wednesday to the homeless in downtown OKC.

The Newton team nominated SoShine Foundation and their Porch Pantry as the community donation recipient. The SoShine Foundation developed an after school program for 5th and 6th graders in Newton.
The program provides a safe place to hang out after school, free snacks and has mentor volunteers spend time with the kids helping with homework or just hanging out. In addition, SoShine Foundation operates a community food pantry program.
