Notice of Data Breach
Marquis Software Solutions (“Marquis”) is a marketing and communications vendor to its bank partners, which had previously included Union State Bank. In 2025, Marquis was the victim of an incident that had the potential to affect the privacy of some Union State Bank customers' personal information. Marquis would have sent written notification to you if your personal information was compromised during the data breach.
We take the protection of your information very seriously, and although Marquis has no evidence of identity theft or fraud as a result of this incident, the information below provides details of the incident, Marquis response, and resources available to you to help protect your personal information from possible misuse, should you feel it is appropriate to do so.
What Happened?
On August 14, 2025, Marquis Software Solutions identified suspicious activity on their network and later determined that it was the result of a cybersecurity incident. Upon learning of the incident, Marquis immediately launched an investigation and engaged the appropriate cybersecurity experts to assist. Marquis also promptly notified law enforcement. Marquis's investigation determined that an unauthorized third party accessed their network and may have accessed and acquired certain files from their systems. Importantly, Union State Bank's internal systems were not impacted; the incident was limited to Marquis’ environment.
What Information Was Involved?
Marquis reviewed the contents of the copied files to determine if they contained any personal information. On October 27, 2025, Marquis determined that the personal data of some Union State Bank customers was included in the copied file. Details of the compromised data is included in the written communication received by impacted customers. At this time, Marquis has no evidence of the misuse, or attempted misuse, of personal information as a result of this incident.
What Marquis Is Doing.
In addition to the actions described above, Marquis has taken steps to reduce the risk of this type of incident occurring in the future. Marquis has notified impacted customers of the incident so that they can be aware and take steps to protect their information, if they feel it is appropriate to do so.

Credit Report Security Freeze
You have the right to place a “security freeze” on your credit report, which will prohibit a consumer reporting agency from releasing information in your credit report without your express authorization. The security freeze is designed to prevent credit, loans, and services from being approved in your name without your consent.
However, you should be aware that using a security freeze to take control over who gets access to the personal and financial information in your credit report may delay, interfere with, or prohibit the timely approval of any subsequent request or application you make regarding a new loan, credit, mortgage, or any other account involving the extension of credit. Pursuant to federal law, you cannot be charged to place or lift a security freeze on your credit report.
Should you wish to place a security freeze, please contact the major consumer reporting agencies listed below:

An initial fraud alert is a 1-year alert that is placed on a consumer’s credit file. Upon seeing a fraud alert display on a consumer’s credit file, a business is required to take steps to verify the consumer’s identity before extending new credit.
