Union State Bank Unveils New Look for Mobile and Online Banking

Union State Bank (USB) is proud to introduce a refreshed digital banking experience with the recent launch of their updated mobile and online banking platforms. Designed with customers in mind, the enhanced experience reflects months of planning, research, testing, and collaboration focused on making everyday banking more intuitive, convenient, and accessible.
Union State Bank’s project team invested significant time evaluating customer feedback, studying usage trends, and carefully considering how customers interact with online banking tools each day. The result is a platform designed to simplify navigation while putting the most important banking features front and center.
Far more than a visual refresh, the update represents an evolution of the platforms to a “composable dashboard” according to USB’s vendor partner for online and mobile banking, Q2.
“We have conducted extensive behind-the-scenes analysis, including composable dashboard training, meetings and performing thorough testing,” said Jessica Horton, Digital Banking Services Specialist. “Additionally, we evaluated feedback from the Q2 discussion groups to identify and prepare for any potential concerns before they occurred.”
According to Jodie Wall, Director of Deposit Operations, the foundation for the update was built long before customers saw the finished product. “A significant amount of planning and preparation went into this project prior to launch,” Wall said. “Our team spent considerable time evaluating customer behavior and identifying the most frequently used features and services.
Customer support trends and usage reports were critical to better understand customer preferences and priorities. “We focused on planning and research to create a simple, intuitive online banking experience,” said Cyndal Deringer of Digital Banking Services. “Our goal was to centralize features, so customers could easily access everything in one place, minimizing menu navigation. This involved user testing, feature prioritization, and collaborative design to ensure smooth and efficient platforms.”
Wall added that teamwork across departments played an important role in delivering a successful rollout. “We collaborated across teams to test functionality, refine the user interface, and ensure a seamless and intuitive customer experience before going live,” she said.
This customer-focused approach helped shape one of the platform’s biggest improvements, centralized access to key banking tools and features. Rather than requiring users to navigate through multiple menus, the updated dashboard was intentionally designed to bring frequently used services into one streamlined location.
“Our design was centered on providing users with immediate access to all essential banking features directly from the main page,” Horton said. “By consolidating key functions in a single, clear, and visually accessible location, we aim to enhance the user experience, reduce the time spent searching for services, and increase overall satisfaction.”
The updated experience includes improved navigation, a cleaner interface, enhanced dashboard functionality, and easier access to popular services such as bill payments, transfers, account management tools, and statement preferences. Since the update “went live” in early May, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly encouraging.
“Since launch, we’ve received positive early feedback, with customers appreciating the updated look and improved access to frequently used features,” Wall said. Horton echoed those sentiments, noting, “Overall, we had an abundance of acceptance and satisfaction, our call volume had no effect.”
Looking ahead, Union State Bank views the updated platform as a foundation for continued innovation and growth in digital banking services. “The composable dashboard provides a flexible foundation that will allow us to continuously enhance and evolve our online and mobile banking experience,” Wall said. “Moving forward, customers can expect ongoing improvements focused on greater personalization, convenience, and ease of use as we introduce new features over time.”
Horton added that vendor partnerships will continue to play a role in future enhancements. “As we collaborate with vendors to enhance our products offered, our objective is to integrate these improvements into our online banking platform,” she said. “This could involve the addition of new content blocks and features to enrich the user experience.”
Union State Bank leaders say the project ultimately reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to combining modern technology with personalized community banking service. “We are excited to continue enhancing the digital banking experience and appreciate our customers’ support as we evolve the platform,” Wall said. “Our goal remains to deliver a secure, intuitive, and convenient experience that meets customers’ everyday banking needs.”
Customers are encouraged to explore the new features and experience the updated platform firsthand through Union State Bank’s online and mobile banking services.
