Union State Bank announces the promotion of Tim Holt to Edmond Market President, following the retirement of longtime Market President David Braly.

Holt assumes leadership of one of the bank's strongest-performing markets after serving the organization as Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender. During his tenure, Holt has helped strengthen the Edmond, Oklahoma market through his commercial lending expertise, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to serving customers and the community.

Union State Bank President and CEO Eric Kurtz expressed confidence in Holt's ability to continue building on the market's momentum.

"Tim joined Union State Bank in 2021 and since that time has been instrumental in the success of the Edmond market,” Kurtz said. "I have complete confidence that the growth of our Edmond market will continue under Tim's quality leadership and congratulate him on a well-deserved promotion."

Holt brings four decades of banking experience to his new role. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, he also completed the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. Since beginning his banking career in 1986 as a part-time teller, Holt has held leadership positions across multiple areas of the industry, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for two financial institutions before joining Union State Bank.

Reflecting on his career path, Holt shared that banking became his calling after changing majors during college as the energy market declined in the early 1980s. He credits both family influence and professional relationships for shaping his career, including David Braly, who recruited him to Union State Bank to help continue developing the Edmond market.

"I appreciate the opportunity and the trust placed in me to lead our office," Holt said. Looking ahead, he is excited to continue strengthening the Edmond market while building upon the exceptional team already in place.

For Holt, community banking is about much more than financial transactions. He believes banks play an essential role in helping communities thrive.

"I'm proud to be part of an industry that is an economic driver for the community," Holt said. "Our efforts help provide jobs and homes, support businesses and create other opportunities throughout our area."

As Holt steps into his new leadership role, he follows David Braly, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in establishing Union State Bank's presence in the Edmond market.

Kurtz praised Braly's lasting contributions to both the organization and the communities it serves. "David joined Union State Bank in September 2019 and started the Edmond (office) from scratch as our only employee at the time," Kurtz said. "Today, they are a top-performing market for the organization. We are in a much better place because of his efforts and teamwork from our other Edmond officers and employees."

At Braly's retirement celebration, Holt reflected on the impact his mentor had on his career and on those around him.

"Looking back over his 45-year career, David's dedication, patience and hard work have left a permanent mark on all of us, as well as the banking industry," Holt said. "He didn't just do a good job, he led a team. He taught us how to work together, and we built something pretty special."

As Union State Bank looks to the future, Holt's promotion represents a seamless leadership transition rooted in experience, relationship banking, and a continued commitment to serving the Edmond community. Building on the strong foundation established by Braly, Holt is poised to lead the market into its next chapter while continuing Union State Bank's mission of delivering exceptional service and strengthening the communities it serves.
