Union State Bank Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Brittany Welch has been recognized as a Young Professional in Financial Services by the Wichita Business Journal. Welch is one of 32 up-and-coming leaders recognized in the November 17th print edition of the journal.
“These professionals are the next generation of city and community leaders,” according to the Wichita Business Journal article.
Originally part of the Midland National Bank team which merged with Union State Bank in 2020, Welch has a combined fourteen years with the organization.
“I started my career at Midland National Bank in Newton as a loan assistant while in college. Through the years, I was fortunate to have opportunities to serve in various roles in loan and credit administration, as well as on various committees and in management at the bank,” said Welch. She notes Ron Lang, EVP, Newton Market President as an early mentor.
Today Welch oversees the credit and loan administration functions of Union State Bank. Some of her duties include policy and procedure writing, adherence to regulations, and risk management of the loan portfolio.
“It’s exciting to play a role in supporting our communities with loans to businesses that help spur economic development and to individuals to support the purchase of their first car or home,” explained Welch. “I enjoy digging into projects that benefit our organization and our customers. I work with an excellent team and am proud of the things we accomplish together.”
