Union State Bank recently announced that Blake Yakel has joined the organization as Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender.
“Blake brings to USB a significant amount of commercial lending experience here in the Wichita market,” said David Harris, Executive Vice President and Kansas Regional President. “He will play a critical role for us as we move forward with expanding upon our presence in the Wichita market.”
In his new role, Yakel will work directly with commercial customers throughout the Wichita area, helping businesses with lending solutions, deposit services and broader financial needs.
“I made the move to USB for the opportunity to further grow in my banking career,” explained Yakel. “My goal is to grow the commercial loans and deposits for the organization personally, and for the Wichita market.”
Along with serving customers, Yakel has already assumed several leadership responsibilities within the bank.
“Since joining Union State Bank, I am leading our weekly sales meeting, heading the Wichita Loan Committee, serving on the Executive Loan Committee and on the Asset Liability Committee for the bank,” said Yakel.
Yakel is a graduate of Wichita State University and Fort Hays State University and brings more than two decades of banking experience to the organization. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing strong client relationships and helping customers achieve long-term financial success.
“Since being in banking, I have grown to enjoy working with my clients and helping them reach their financial goals,” explained Yakel. “But my favorite thing about my role is being able to meet our existing clients and to discuss with potential clients the benefits of banking with Union State Bank.”
Outside of work, Yakel enjoys spending time with his family along with participating in a variety of hobbies which include golfing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has also been active as part of the Ronald McDonald House and at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
